Message Managed to get Project SlickTTop together (sort of) in time for it to be dynoed and tuned by Greg and Seb when they were in Edmonton. I was a little bit rushed getting everything together so lets just say Greg and Seb were gracious and patient with me. Seb has referred me to "www.bad-Z-owner.com" for counselling and some remedial training on the 6P's :-)

My profile for this car is not up to date so here are some of the highlights:

standard compression JDM TT motor (my first)
gt28rs turbos with v-band compressor inlet housings
Ashspec 2.5 in IC / induction pipes
Ashspec Massives
60 mm TBs (95 altima)
nismo 740s
MSP manis
SZ expansion DPs
SZ 3-2.5" TPs
Stillen 2.5" catback
mild upper to lower plenum port
Selin dual maf translator
BDE mounts
Blitz SBC-iD EBC

Interesting story on the motor. I purchased the motor in 2004 as the donor for what was going to be my original TT swap into the original ConVerTT. As many of you know, that car ended up as a high compression NA-TT - turbos on the NA motor. What many of you didn't know is that at the time I had hedged my bets and had a JDM TT block in my garage just in case the high compression motor went "BOOM"

Well, eight years have passed, and ConVerTT hasn't gone "BOOM". I told Greg about the motor last year and suggested that I thought it was probably junk as it had sat around in various levels of disassembly in my garage for 7 years. He suggested that it would probably be fine, and that I should simply reassemble and reseal it, change the timing belt and 120k and then see if she runs. So I did just that and dropped her in the slicktop, and here are the results (94 octane):

I have to say, I am pretty excited. The smooth and linear power curve and the long flat torque curve is pretty nice. Fifth gear is now endless compared to the VerTTs.

Unfortunately my joy was short lived and quickly turned to jealousy the next day (j/k Mixman) as I observed Greg and Seb dial in GOBS and GOBS and GOBS of LOW END TORQUE into MixMans car by dialing in his JWT 500 cams with adjustable cam gears. Here is the overlay of MixMans Sport530 curves on top (literally) of mine (again 94 octane):

Wow Huh! Adjustable cam gears - I think I am sold! Ah well - guess we'll see you again next year Greg and Seb ...

Now I gotta go driving :-)
